Welcome to Country Life!

Last week, we were in Muar (my husband's hometown) for the weekend, my mother-in-law took us to collect local dragon fruits that she ordered through a friend. Her friend happens to have a plantation of many types of fruits (except dragon fruit), rubber tree and palm oil.

My daughters stepped into the chicken barn for the very first time and got really excited. The chickens were more afraid of us than the girls. Alyssa plucked a ripe star fruit and held a freshly laid chicken egg. Other fruit trees found there were durian, mangosteen, duku, duku langsat, rambutan, jambu air (water apple) guava, coconut and noni.

Hubby did not follow us as he was too tired after the drive from KL – Muar. When the girls saw their daddy, they happily showed their fruits and telling him what they saw. This was what daddy said… "Welcome to Country Life!".

That is 'Wang' - the dog.

I must say having grown up in Ipoh, I have not seen a mangosteen tree or a langsat tree before. It was truly a very educating trip for me too.

Our Muar trip is not complete without visiting to Tanjung, the (in)famous monkey park…this trip we were surrounded by monkeys…there were so many monkeys.
