In His time

Today is Alyssa’s 8th birthday. Baked her an eggless chocolate cake & made chocolate ice cream.

Tomorrow is the start of her school exam. Dunno what to expect. So just pray lor.

God’s timing is always perfect! Looking back how my life has been, God was always there for me and my family.

1996 (May) – was introduced to my hubby while I was still working in JIT (a private college)

1997 (June) – joined Yamaha Music group of companies

1999 (16 Oct) – got married

2000 (22 July) – Alyssa was born at 38 weeks

2003 (23 Oct) – Hannah was born at 38 ½ weeks

2004 (Jan) – Alyssa went to nursery school (N2),

2004 (July) - I left Yamaha Music and became a homemaker

2005 (Jan) – Alyssa went to kindergarten (K1)

2005 (Sept) – Alyssa went to see a speech therapist around 5 times over a period of 4 months

2006 (Jan) – Alyssa in K2, had birthday party for Alyssa in A & W

2007 (Jan ) – Alyssa in Primary One, Han Ming, Puchong

2008 (Jan) – Alyssa in Primary Two and Hannah in K1

2008 (Jun) – Took Alyssa to see a skin specialist

Alyssa had problem with pronouncing the ‘K’ sounds. So her cake sounds like take and key sounds like tea. People couldn’t understand her and it was quite frustrating. We prayed and seek God’s guidance on this. Our pastor recommended us to take her to a speech therapist. We only hope that her problem will be solved before she goes to primary school. Well, PTL, she showed some improvement after 2nd therapy session. We have to practice at home some mouth and tongue exercises. At the last session she could pronounce correctly. Little Hannah benefitted from the sessions too. Her pronounciation at the age of 2 ½ was almost perfect.

Oh...the speech therapist sessions must have been hard (and expensive).

Good that her self esteem was not affected. She is still outgoing and very lovable. And the most caring sister I have come to know.

Charges were about the same as seeing a child specialist but more worth it cause we get 1/2 hour compare to each consultation of maybe 10 minutes (or less!)

Being happy-go-lucky do has some advantages...haha.
