We bought tickets (just for Alyssa and myself) through a friend who got us some discounts, to the finale show on 20/8/08, seated at Lower Tier, two rows from the VIPs seats. The stadium was half full. Perhaps the die hard fans went on the opening day. So it was not so crowded on the finale day. Spectators mainly are children and teenagers with their parents (mostly mothers I think).
My daughter sang along all the songs and clapped along like in real concert. Feel like telling her it’s an ice skating show! They don’t sing live!!! Well besides that, the pro-skaters did perform some twists, spins and lifts and they move really fast. That alone kept me ‘entertained’. It was not as boring as I thought. In fact it was quite enjoyable. I was also busy taking photos hoping to get some good shots. It was announced that video recording ‘is not cool’.
The whole production was a reenactment of HSM and HSM2 movies. The skating ring was transformed into basketball court, canteen, classroom, golf course etc using props, lighting and the big screen projection. Impressive! You get songs and stories from 2 movies in 1 show. Cool ah???
Some HSM merchandise on sale there like the programme book (RM45), some spinning light thingy, pop corn in a box (RM10) and pop corn in a plastic tub, cotton candy and ice drinks with HSM straw cup, which I bought none.
Worth it? For my daughter...yes. For me...I rather watch My Fair Lady.

Reckon sometimes our kids happiness is worth every bit of it....especially after she has worked so hard in her exams!
