Christmas Gathering

Christmas gathering is always a joyous occasion where good food is served, the story of Christ birth is told and there's gift exchange. However as the people in my cell group grow (older and wiser), married and have children, Christmas gathering has another focus that is the kids.

This year's gathering was at my place. There were 6 couples, 2 kids, 5 toddlers and a 4 month old baby. As there were FIVE (5) toddlers, where at this age must be occupied all the time with either food or toys, I prepared an area to play balloons and another area to play toys. They also enjoyed the push cars, tricycle and a small stroller.

Cutleries for kids which I bought from Ikea. There are 6 different colours in one pack. So I bought plates, bowls, fork, spoon and knifes. Never thought that I will need to buy all these cause I have a lot of freebies from milk powder and breakfast cereal. But the ones from Ikea really look attractive. Can't resist.

Food! Menu for dinner was fried rice, fried mee, roasted chicken, fried chicken, satay, lobak, mixed vegetables, tuna puff pastry, durian tart, fruit cake, agar-agar (choc malt jelly) and cincau drinks.

Glad that Ann enjoyed the gathering. My children were so looking forward to this event. Now they can't wait till Christmas day to open their presents. Actually my church is 'fasting from buying Christmas presents' and ask to channel the money to a needy cause. This will be the 3rd year our church is organising and collecting the money. This year the collection will be channeled towards rebuilding and enforcing of the school in Bihar, India and contribute to support the volunteers in Sichuan, China.

So, next year we shall only buy gifts for the children and continue to bless more people in contributing to the needy fund. Let's not forget the true meaning of Christmas.

May all have a very Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!
