My teachers say ...

One day as I was cleaning my car, I over heard a conversation between a mother and a kindergarten teacher. My neighbour is a childcare centre – kindergarten.

The mother has an older son whom now is in primary school. The kindergarten teacher was asking about the boy. She remembered the boy was very naughty and cried for months in the beginning. She was telling how the boy used to disturb other kids and etc.

On the other hand, the mother was trying to defend his son saying some good traits of his son and explaining why he was crying that time. Every negative comment from the kindergarten teacher about the boy, the mother will put in some positive remarks.

Pity the little boy. Perhaps it’s in our Asian culture that we speak and remember more of the bad stuff rather than talking something nice. At least the mother was not our typical ‘mothers’ that are being too modest in praising their children.

I’m glad that Alyssa was remembered as a quiet, sweet girl, also likes to smile. Hannah – all the teachers (even those who did not teach her) tell me she is quiet and a very good girl. Can’t agree on the quiet part but she does her school work very nice and neat.

What will your son’s or daughter’s kindergarten teacher say about your child?
