Retreat at Port Dickson (Part 1)

Just came back from a holiday at Port Dickson with my church cell group members. There were 6 couples, 2 kids, 4 toddlers and 1 baby altogether. It was a great joy to be with the children and happy to see them have fun.

We stayed at Avillion Admiral Cove for 2 nites in the Studio Room (the hotel was fully booked due to long weekend and we managed to reserve the last 6 rooms available). It is a new hotel in Port Dickson, started operation since March 2008. Nice room, clean, very king size bed (can fit hubby, me and a 5 year old kid comfortably). Major setback was the swimming pool. It was ‘dirty’. Tiles on the side is blue colour and the ground, green tiles, I think, cause can't see properly as the water was not so clear. Breakfast was good but was nothing to shout about.

The journey to Port Dickson using trunk road was quite an adventurous for hubby and me. It was a convoy of 5 cars from Puchong. We drove passed entrance to Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, Dengkil and reached Sepang. Passed by also Sepang Circuit F1, then through some ‘scenic’ view of palm oil and reached Bagan Lalang. After some time passing through Morib town, we came to ‘civilisation’ Lukut Town. Wow! What a relieved caused I know we were not that far from PD town.

Lunch was at this old hainanese kopitiam in PD town. It was my 4th time there. Good food and very nice roti (bread) toast. Then we head to the hotel to check-in.

We had dinner at El Cactus Mexican Restaurant (opposite Corus Hotel). I find it nice atmosphere, quite a fine dining choice. Point to note is better to go around 8 pm where mosquito is less active during that time. Perhaps due to a big group, our meal was rather lengthy. The last person only got his meal after more than an hour from the first person was served. We were kept busy with the children though. The dinner ended with a birthday cake for our birthday girl, Ann (actual day) and another 2 friends John and Mei Yan.

Happy Birthday Hui Ling!
