One of the dreams of being a mother is to know that my children are proud of me. In May 2008, a photo I sent to Thumbnails, The Star was published, and was also the winning picture. I won RM50.00 for that. My eight year old daughter saw the newspaper cutting (I was supposed to file it) and immediately ask…
“Mummy, Mummy, can I take this to school and show all my friends and teacher? Can I? Was this also showed on TV? Wah! You were so good.”
She seldom complains on my cooking and adores the cake I bake. Every now and then she will ask me to bake her favourite chocolate cakes and brownies. Every time I make buns, she will be the one faithfully waiting for the first bite.
Recently, she was asked to avoid food that has high allergy effect, ie nuts, eggs, seafood etc due to eczema. EGGS! She was so devastated when she knew that she can’t eat her favourite chocolate cakes and brownies. So I told her I will search for eggless cake recipes. And I found quite a number of websites. Will try them out this weekend.
I’m known in my church Sunday School as ‘the baker’. Sounds big but I’m still learning. Therefore I wish to learn from Dr Baker (MIB's CEO Don Yong) , not only for the sake of my daughters, hubby, friends but more importantly for myself. Most of the time mothers put family and others before themselves. But this time I want to be the top five to be selected to attend a session Bakin' with Dr Baker . More info on this event click CloveTWO and AMBP.
If I'm selected, I bet my daughter will brag to all her friends and all my friends about this.
